Country Kitchen Brewster, 564 N Main St., Brewster: This is a low-key, friendly American restaurant called "quaint" in some reviews that deliver home-style food, from buttermilk waffle to brisket.

"My son got eggs and hash, which he enjoyed. My daughter got the cannoli pancakes that were unbelievably good," said Yelp poster, Yvonne D. of Windham, New Hampshire.

Frankies Waffles And Burgers, 565 Route 6, Mahopac: Their motto is "Come in as a customer and leave as a friend."  It's a neighborhood eatery that attracts lots of locals from the area.

Plenty of breakfast items including pancakes, French toast, eggs Benedict and special items like "Meat Lovers," bacon, sausage, and ham.

Sal Paci, a poster on Google Maps said this, "From an awesome breakfast to a hearty burger. Service is always great."

Florrie Kaye's Tea Room, 69 Gleneida Ave., Carmel: An elegant and friendly place to enjoy a late morning meal. They open at 11 a.m. It's very popular so reservations are encouraged.

Afternoon tea is served on white linens in porcelain while the decor is cheery and pays homage to the Engish royals. There are hats on the wall to wear if you aren't wearing your own but it's all in good fun so dress up if you like. Not everyone does.

Tea service comes with your choice a la carte from paninis-cheddar and bacon, and finger sandwiches, tuna melt, and brie, among dozens of choices, including heartier ones. The restaurant serves traditional Engish scones, pastries, and sweet cakes, along with homemade soups.

Owner Gina Aurisicchio said, "We're lunch cafe but its the experience along with the food which happens to be delicious."

"Beautiful, quaint English tea shop. Delicious food and lovely accommodating staff" said a post on Florrie's Facebook page by Catherine Leonardo DeVinci.

Eveready Diner, 90 Independent Way, Brewster:  Easy on/off from I-84 and open 24 hours on weekends, and 'til midnight during the week, breakfast is always hearty or you can enjoy a sensational homemade muffin, pastry, and many sweet cakes for a Continental meal.

Candy Wilks Gramma on their Facebook page posted, "Good breakfast, fast service, friendly peeps."

Putnam Diner, 2600 Route 22, Patterson: A home-style restaurant with two pages of breakfast choices, from 18 different omelets to country eggs, and pancakes 

"Excellent service. Love the Hungry Man three-meat egg breakfast," says a post by Mark Kirkland on their Facebook page.
